Dobrivoje and Slobodanka Zlatanovic from Mramorski potok live in the house from mud. Front door doesn’t closed as it should be. In one room because of that is cold as and out side, and nothing better it is not and in other room, in which they lodge fire, because nor windows for long time doesn’t close as it should be. They don’t have water, and electricity because of the great debt, excluded before few years. Slobodanka is hardly ill, almost immobile, and social help from 2.481 RSD is early in the year, from unknown reasons, canceled to Zlatanovic family.
“Earlier my wife and me went in wages and earned money, but now she is ill and I cant leave her alone, because I stir her up and raises when is necessary. Few days ago I left her for short time and she got up and fell. Her kidneys are fully canceled, and now she have pains in her arm – explains Dobrivoje. They have tree daughters, but every of them lives very hard, that’s why of them, as Zlatanovic says, help can not to expect. Multidisciplinary mobile team of City Municipality of Palilula, which realizing project from program Exchange 3, and management of Municipality with presidents Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic and Milan Djurdjevic visited this family and for beginning they brought them help in mind of five cubic meters of firewood, package of basic food boxes and toiletries. Doctor from the team reviewed Slobodanka, who in that moment had very high blood pressure, even 220/121. Buying medicines for her is also one of helps that is provided to this family the same day. It was called and team of Emergency to help.
What we did today is single. Their basic debt for electricity was 100.000 RSD, but now it is almost 200.000 RSD. We will ask that to this family provide electricity because it is inconceivable that in 21st century live in such conditions. This should be a warning that and in our environment live very difficult, that we must more to try to resolve the issue of the social situation of our citizens in the country, but in other areas. Our team will and in the future visit this family, we will take care of them, because who knows how many families there is and that we about them don’t know at all – said Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, president of CM Palilula. He added that Palilula Municipality can help to this family thanks to the project “Strengthening of Municipal capacity to improve the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups” that is financed by European Union through program “Exchange 3”. “Right now we will see why they stopped receiving public assistance and why it was half less then legal, and with Public Utility Enterprise “Naissus” we will see the possibility of joining of this household to the water supply connection – promised president Novakovic.
